Is there a way to lock a program in windows XP? In my case i want to lock Bitcomet so when I’m downloading stuff nobody can open it and mess with the download speed. I want to lock it when is the taskbar downloading something I don’t want to lock windows, just an specific program. Like for example in Schools there’s programs and stuff they lock so nobody can mess with it.

Use adminstrator account and log in. Ensure that the admin account has password created for it.

Right click the program / folder go to properties / security and have only your id have rights on it.

Anyone else who logs in with on have access to that folder.

If it is family that is snooping, create an id for them and ensure that they are not given admin access to your PC.

Should stop the snooping.

Note : if you do not see the security option in properties then

Open my computer / tools / folder options / View / go down to the last item Use Simple file sharing ( as you are adminstrator and want to manage things on your own untick it ) and you will have security options enabled
