you have to work through all the prompts at Microsoft to get a real person to tell them what happened. they will then get you the proper code to activate it.
Don’t. Write or download a crack, email me if you want a good one, completely clean. If you choose to activate, you will need to re-activate for every 4 new pieces of hardware that go in your machine. MoBo and CPU count as 2.
I don’t see how it is possible for Windows Activation to lock you out if you reformatted your hard drive & reinstalled Windows.
The only think I can think of, is that it has been less than 30 days since you installed Windows XP using that same Product Key.
Windows XP will not allow you to activate twice in a 30 day period.
The same thing happened to me and I was able to get help by using my Windows XP installation disk.
There is a link at the bottom right of screen where you enter your Product Key, that is for activating Windows without a Product Key.
Basically, it gives you a number to contact Microsoft Customer Service. You provide them with your Product Key and the reason why you are wanting to activate again in less than 30 days.
As long as you can give a good explanation & you sound like you are a legitimate customer, they will provide you another code you can use to activate Windows.
