    Ethernet is connected automatically, the computer does not have to “look for” it. Simply do not connect to a wireless network and you will be fine.

    You are looking for something called “Disable Upon Wired Connect”. I am not sure it is available on all computers (and doesn’t always work when it is.

    On my laptop I simply turn off & on my wireless (FN + F2). It just seems easier that way or I have gotten used to it.
