- I lost my original dell computer after a power surge so I reformatted the hard drive and changed the motherboard. I reinstalled windows xp. Usually it gives you 30 days before you must activate your account, but in the same day I reinstalled, I can’t log-on because Windows is saying my 30 days is up. I may have changed the date/time and I think this may have something to do with it. When I tried to change it back, I still couldn’t log on. So (finally) my question: Where do I get a confirmation id (7 sets of 6 digits for a total of 42 numbers)??? I tried contacting MS but they say my version is already registered, which it was, however, the other computer is dead. RobinBattineau, your profile says that I cannot email you???
- Is there a way to lock a program in windows XP? In my case i want to lock Bitcomet so when I’m downloading stuff nobody can open it and mess with the download speed. I want to lock it when is the taskbar downloading something I don’t want to lock windows, just an specific program. Like for example in Schools there’s programs and stuff they lock so nobody can mess with it.

I use Avast,Adawareplus edition and comodo firewall. All free. I have superantisyware as a back up check. The new version of Comodo has a malware scanner also. Comodo is free because the company charges for. SSLcertification, so the more people that are on the internet the more companies needing certification.
