I am planning on getting an ipod nano soon and i have windows XP Home service pack 2 but it says that i will need service pack three. do i really have to have service pack three or is that just the recommended? what would happen if i got it and plugged it in with only a service pack 2? any and all answers are greatly appreciated. thank you.

The iPod Nano 4th generation requires iTunes 8

    iTunes 8 requires.
“Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, or 32-bit editions of Windows Vista”

directly from their website… so you should be ok. (even though the tech specs on the nano as you said requires SP3).

Hey, if it doesn’t work it just means downloading SP3 which is freely available from microsoft. (I’d recommend it anyways, SP3 is the last final service pack they’ll make for XP, and it does patch up a lot of issues before they finally abandon XP)
